Went to the ENT Today

I had a follow-up appointment with my ear, nose and throat doctor today to see how I've been doing. Although I haven't had any major bouts of vertigo since you put me on the diuretic I still have moments where my equilibrium is off.  Today, I also saw the audiologist who check out my ears and ran some test.  The cool (and gross) part was that when he was checking my ears, I could see what he was looking at on a monitor in front of me.  To see those clumps of ear wax and the hairs was nasty.  But he said everything looked good.  I also passed my hearing test with flying colors. So what is causing all of this?  The doctor thinks that my eustachian tube may be inflamed and causing fluids to be backed up so he prescribed some steroids in hopes of reducing or eliminating the inflamation.  Guess I'll see what happens when I start the medication.

Ew... did you manage to finish your lunch that day? Believe me, I wouldn't.

During lunch the other day, a friend was talking about how he once had a huge clump of ear wax bugging him. Use something to pick it out and said it was something like an inch long and shaped like his ear canal. It reminded me of the scene from Shrek where he pulls out the ear wax to make a candle. LOL

Nah, it was piss-annoying though. Was completely deaf in it for a few days, I set the little bastard on fire after I got it out.

Yikes! That's incident with the cotton sounds scary. The doctor wants me back in the office next week to induce dizziness to see if the problem is really being caused by a situation in my inner ear. The test is supposed to take about an hour. The audiologist will inject cold then warm water into my ear to cause dizziness. I really do not look foward to that test. If the steroids work, then I can cancel the appointment. Keeping my fingers crossed.

So no inner ear infection? Hopefully the steroids will work. I've had ear problems before, once got a wad of cotton stuck in my ear and I had to spend an hour with a pair of tweezers to pull it out.

<_< I should've sterilized the tweezers first though, I got a small infection.
