I just saw an awesome movie the other day on my Movies on Demand channel called "Into the Wild". Basically it is a true story about a college graduate who became sick and tired of society and how emphasis was always put on status and money. So he burned his cards, cash, and I.D. and took off by foot into the wild. The movie revolves around Christopher McCandless's journey and is portrayed perfectly by Emile Hursch. I highly recommend anyone of all ages really to check it out.

What an unusual story... I can certainly understand how someone would get tired of the society's games - pretense, showing off, and such. There is a hermit side to my character, but still, I don't think I could do what this guy did. Move father away from cities & towns and live in a log cabin - maybe. Into the wild? No.

Well i have not seen this film. I think that the film will be good from your review here. I always enjoy films which speak about the society. In everyone's life money plays a vital role. I think that money has made us machines because of which we lead a mechanical life now. So let us all watch the movie and enjoy it.

Yeah, it's based on Into the Wild written by Jon Krakauer. The book was great, as was Into Thin Air. I highly recommend reading them, they are real page-turners. I thought they did a good job with the movie, Emile Hursch was suprisingly talented and I loved the Pearl Jam soundtrack.

From what I understand, the writer of the book the movie's based on had written a book called Into Thin Air or something. about a doomed expedition to Mt. Everest. I might catch this flick when it comes to DVD.

My hubby was just talking about that movie Xiflada. He said I would probably like it a lot (he knows my type of movies). I'll check it out sometime. Thanks for letting me know about it !

I want to say badly say how it pans out, but it would ruin the entire movie , although some already know because it's based on a true story. I am so with you on this Xifalda, there is just no way I could do that..at least by choice.

I have heard of Requiem for a Dream and have always wanted to watch it. Would you recommend ? I actually those different type movies.

I have saw the previews for this but I haven't watched it yet. Come to think of it I rarely get to watch tv anymore. I've even been missing American Idol! Geez.. I guess that's what happens when you have four kids huh? Well I guess I need to watch this now for sure. Everyone has great reviews on it.
