With all this hype and fuss going on about Rhonda Byrne's book " The Secret", I decided to buy a copy and test it out. If anyone is unfamiliar with the concept behind the book (and movie too), it is basically all about the Law of Attraction. If you think positive thoughts and truly believe them, then they will manifest, and vice versa, if you think and believe negatively then you will attract negativity.

So I am about halfway through the book and a few days ago I decided to test it out. I told the "Universe" as they say, that I wanted $100 in my mail. It says not to ask how it will get there, but just to know it will get there, believe it will get here, and then leave it to the Universe. Lo and behold, I check my mail today and I have a check for $100 from Chase Bank that is mine all mine as long as I open a checking account with them. Now, funny thing is that I have been planning on switching over to Chase anyways since that is bank my payroll is drawn from. Coincidence? I still tend to think so a little bit, as that is the negative side of me rearing its ugly head, but I am gonna keep trying regardless.

Anyone else read this book yet ? If so what do you think, how long has it been since you started trying it for yourself (if you have), and has it worked for you?

I just saw an awesome movie the other day on my Movies on Demand channel called "Into the Wild". Basically it is a true story about a college graduate who became sick and tired of society and how emphasis was always put on status and money. So he burned his cards, cash, and I.D. and took off by foot into the wild. The movie revolves around Christopher McCandless's journey and is portrayed perfectly by Emile Hursch. I highly recommend anyone of all ages really to check it out.

I started out years ago at MYSURVEY, and over the years have managed to rack up quite a bit of points (which converts to cash), and have tested a plethora of different products that have yet to hit the market (  Crest Whitestrips new product, a new Tide scent, etc.) However, I have yet to find any other survey place that compares to them. Most places want to enter you into a Sweepstakes, and then maybe, after wasting an hour of your time on a long drawn out survey, you just "may" win some cash for it...NO thanks. Anyone know any places besides MYSURVEY?

We just adopted a new Golden Retriever to be playmates with our pup River, and while we were gone, I have a feeling someone swooped him out of our backyard. It is fenced in and there is just no way he could have gotten out. We double checked and just can't find a way, so in my mind, some moron came in, grabbed him, and jetted.

Why do people do this ? I hate thieves to begin with, but dog thieves are just the worst. They are basically taking away a family member from someone and not thinking twice about how it may affect children or other family members.

This is an article I wrote about The Beatles previously, and what I think their top 20 songs are. All you Beatles fans, let me know what your top songs are !

I could be here all day talking about the Beatles and why I am such a huge fan. But for the sake of time, let's just say that for me, there is never a time when I cannot find that perfect Beatles song no matter what the mood is. The Beatles and their wonderful music have been there for me through tough times, happy times, bored times, sad times, and humorous times. I realize that I was not even in existence when these guys hit the big time, but great music is timeless. I can't really say when I first got hooked on The Beatles.

I remember that I was probably the only one of my friends at the time that really liked them, and as time went on, my appreciation for the guys grew like a weed. Not only are their lyrics great, but their instrumentals just blow me away. They have experimented with sounds that no one else had dared to go or even thought possible. The end result was nothing short of brilliance.

Then, they also have their catchy tunes with just a few basic chords. Even then, there was just something about these guys that made almost whatever they did seem magical. They just had that "it" factor when they were together. That is something that so many bands want, but very few have. Anyhow, without further ado, here is my list of what I consider the top 20 Beatles song of all times, along with some honorable mentions.

No. 20 - Blackbird - Paul sings lead on this, and does great as usual. The song is very simple and so mellow (an acoustic guitar and some tapping), but the lyrics are wonderful and the song is amazing.

No. 19 - And Your Bird Can Sing - WONDERFUL guitar solo by George, and that pretty much makes the whole song go round. John did a good job on vocals and once again had people scrambling to figure out just what he meant. I think that the song represents something simple : Material things aren't everything and really don't amount to much ( You tell me that you've got everything you've wanted/And your bird can sing/But you don't get me/You don't get me ). It may be just my take on it, but I think people bent the meaning of this song out of shape when really it was quite simple. Great tune.

No. 18 - Helter Skelter : Probably one of the hardest sounding Beatles songs. I love Paul's screeching vocals on this one. Many people get this song confused with Manson and all the chaos and the murders that surrounded him. However, this song is really (believe it or not) about a kids slide/ride in an amusement park in England. Such an innocent meaning really, that can be taken in so many different contexts.

No. 17 - Here Comes the Sun - This is one of those lovely laid back Beatles ballads from The Abbey Road album. I am not really sure why I like this so much, but I do. Maybe because this song is just so friendly and and has such a happy feeling about being out in the sun ( Here comes the Sun/Do do do do/Here comes the Sun/It's Alright/It's Alright ). It's just one of those feel good songs with a catchy beat, and a chance to see just how talented George really is.

No. 16 - Don't Let Me Down - John takes lead on this one (my favorite Beatle guy), and delivers a nice performance. I am pretty sure he is talking about Yoko in this piece, and about his true love for her (and his fears as well) ( I'm in love for the first time/Don't you know it's gonna last/It's a love that lasts forever/It's a love that has no past ). The instrumentals are wonderful on this song, and every time I hear it , it always reminds me that this was the last song that guys ever performed live together (and on top of a building at that).

No. 15 - Come Together - Great Lennon vocals with a great message.

No. 14 - While My Guitar Gently Weeps - George got down on this song. I've always wondered why George did not have more opportunities to make songs like these, because he really shines.

No. 13 - Hey Jude - What is there not to like about this one? Paul wrote this for John Lennon's son, and it became one of The Beatles biggest hits of all times.

no. 12- Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club - Upbeat, cute lyrics, fun song, and just awesome instrumentals. What's not to like?

No. 11 - I Want You (She's So Heavy ) - Just listen to the guitar and you'll know what I mean.

No. 10 - Happiness is a Warm Gun - Sometimes the tempo changes too quickly and there are minor flaws throughout the song, but this is a great tune besides those little things (that I just ignore now anyways). Deciphering the meaning can be a bit tough since there are so many different opinions about what it is that John is really talking about. Every time I try to analyze the lyrics , I find something new in the song and thus have to start all over again. I just listen now. John is a musical genius. That's all I can say.

No. 9 - Let It Be - Just an amazing song that always lifts my spirits and gives me hope when I hear it. ( When I find myself in times of trouble/Mother Mary Comes to Me/Speaking Words of Wisdom/Let it Be ).

No. 8 - Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds - Written because John's son drew a picture of a cartoon named Lucy? I guess we'll never really know, but the results were outstanding. Many think that this song is a bit too strange even for The Beatles (right...listen to Revolution 9. Now even I agree that is one Beatles song that I can't get into), but I enjoy everything little weird thing about it.

No. 7 - Ballad of John and Yoko - A simple song with simple chords about the wedding and honeymoon of John and Yoko. As simple at it may be, it has a catchy beat and John sounds perfect crooning behind keyboards, guitars, and maracas.

No. 6 - In My Life - A simple song with beautiful piano work about John looking back on all the places, people, and things he has loved in his life. This song always reminds me of someone or something different (from my past) almost every time that I hear it.

No. 5 - Eleanor Rigby - Beautifully written, beautifully sung, and especially beautiful instrumentals. This is one of those songs that just grew on me the more I heard. I originally was not a big fan of this particular song, but it has now become a favorite after listening more and realizing just how interesting this song really is.

No. 4 - With a Little Help From My Friends - I love it when Ringo sings lead, and I also love the lyrics to this song ( What would you do if I sang out of tune?/Would you stand up and walk out on me?/Lend me your ear and I'll sing you a song/And I'll try not to sing out of key/I get by with a little help from my friends/Oh, I get high with a little help from my friends ). Ringo does a fabulous job with this song. One of my personal favorites of all time. This one came close to the top three, but I just couldn't see bumping the others down.

No. 3 - I am the Walrus - The words make no sense and some are even made up. The music is experimental and it seems to come across is just one truly strange song. Well, that is exactly why I love it. John is at his most brilliant moments (in my opinion anyways). I could listen to this song over and over and over and never tire of it.

No. 2 - Strawberry Fields Forever - Another song that is a bit experimental but the end results are amazing.

No. 1 - A Day in the Life - The first time I heard this song I was blown away so much that I immediately played it over and over again. There is so much accomplished in just this one little song (instrumentals, lyrics, vocals) that it still amazes me every time I listen to. The way John starts out slowly and Paul falls in (the song moving into a more upbeat rhythm), and both bringing their own own lyrics from previous songs to combine it into this one song makes this piece just outstanding.

Honorable Mentions

- Yer Blues
- Mother Nature's Son
- Across The Universe
- I've Got a Feeling
- Norwegian Wood
- You're a Rich Man

This is for all of you out there that may know a bit about different puppy food (or dog food). I have heard over and over to never ever feed your puppy commercial puppy foods such Puppy Chow, Iams, Pedigree, Eukanuba, etc. But the ones suggested to me are almost always impossible to find unless you order online and then get charged an arm and a leg for shipping. It i so simple just to grab a bag of Puppy Chow at the store, but I don't want to compromise a new pup's  health. Has anyone ever had any good experiences with commercial foods? Bad experiences?

I hate to say this but I am already ready for Christmas to be over. To me, Christmas should be about family, celebration of Christ (or celebrating togetherness alternatively), and giving. Now I say "giving" very carefully. I really enjoy giving gifts but the things that people want lately is unbelievable. Some family members have nothing on their "wish list" less than $300 each. It just seems that each passing year, people are more concerned with what they are going to get instead of the true meaning of Christmas. It just irks me that people are actually going to fight over gifts this year. This brings me back to the blog I made about WII'S. In the name of "Christmas" I am sure, people are triple charging for the Nintendo WII. I almost can't blame them seeing as how greedy people have gotten and presents just keep getting more and more expensive. But on the other hand, here is a time of love and celebration and giving, and these people are trying to suck the life out of other people's wallets....ugh...Christmas is just too overrated.

Liz asked me to paste how I did my Christmas background so here ya go alt:

It's really not too hard...its a simple copy/paste of any of the layouts that you want. All you have to do is google in LAYOUTS and several will turn up. An Example is this link:

http://www.myprofilepimp.com/myspace_layouts/Christmas-4005

There are several different layouts to choose. It doesn't necessarily have to be Christmas (as you will see). If you have ever used other social networks you probably already know this, but once you find a background you like, simply copy the code and paste into your profile info here alt.

Ok, I need some advice from any of you out there about Christmas trees. For the past few years we have used artificial trees, just because they are so easy to assemble. Then instead of disposing of them you can just break them down and put them right back into the box for next year. But there is something more unique about the real thing. How hard is it to take care of the tree? Do needles fall everywhere ? Every year I see trees just lying around that people just throw out instead getting rid of them the way they should. I grew up with real trees for Christmas but never had to worry about tending to them. Any advice?

I knew this was bound to happen but I put it off and now we are facing the repercussions. My 6 year old daughter wants a WII, but obviously so does everyone else. I put a pre-order into Game Stop thinking I would have it on time, but nope, they are backed up in January.  Had I only placed the order two weeks earlier I would have been safe. Now I know this is no crisis if I can't find one, but in the eyes of a 6 year who has asked for one months on end it is. I looked on E-bay and those suckers are selling for DOUBLE their value..ugh. Does anyone know where one of these evil little gamine consoles can be found at a decent price?

I was just watching one of the silliest reality shows I think I have ever seen.  It was something on MTV and for the life of me I just can't remember the name of the show ( trust me, you probably wouldn't wanna know anyways). The thing is I am actually a fan of reality shows.  As cheesy as some may think about I Love New York 2, I have looovvveeeeee for the show. I don't too much have love for Tiffany "AKA" New York, but the show is just hilarious. But when I see some of the other garbage that put out these days it makes me wonder why I even like reality shows at times. Even American Idol (which was one my favorites for 5 seasons strong) disappointed me severely last season. I wonder just how far these reality shows are going to go. Just when I think that every role and situation imaginable has been made into a reality show, it gets topped with something even more cheesier. Any thoughts ?
