Facebook: apology not accepted!
1:08 AM on Dec. 6, 2007
Dear Facebook,

Facebook, you have been tracking my every move for the last two years and now you want to say sorry. I am tired of big companies pimping me for every dime they can get out of me. People don't know that Facebook makes millions of dollars because they  track people and sell us out like a bunch of animals. What a bunch of crap! I am studying Internet privacy and rights and have found out most people don't have a clue. Go NetToMe!

As far as I know, many web sites sell your information. They may not sell it with your name, but with all the rest of your data, including email. It is not hard to figure out someone's name from their email address.

What I 'don't understand is, don't they say in their service agreement or whatever the little box you need to check before sing up, that they don't sell our info. That would a violation of their own contract. Is their a possibility of a major class law suit or something?

That's true , many sites do track down what one does on their sites after logging on. Something of this sort was reported against AOL sometime back and who knows Google also tracks us for every move we don on each on our visit there. This is kinda lame but such is life :|.

I have heard some sites track every time you log in, how long you stay, what ads you click on, who your friends are, what words you use, what messages you type - this is scary. They put this information with other information they get from the Internet; info from your school, church, clubs you belong to ect. All this info is then aggregated and possibly sold. How can sites that don't make much money be worth billions?

Hey is this true??? I mean is Facebook really doing this? How did you find that out? Please give us more details. How are they doing this? What kind of information are they getting about us through tracking? Other web communities like Orkut and Hi5 are als doing the same thing? I think no one knows about it, that is why everyone is joining Facebook.
